Dedon Ahnda puts the comfort and detail of an indoor armchair into Dedon furniture outdoors. Stephen Burks studied the weaving traditions of the Philippines and gave the chair an open weave you can see through.

About the collection
Upholstery you can see through
Burks set out to make an outdoor lounger that holds up against the finest indoor chairs for comfort and finish. The open weave of Dedon Fiber acts as transparent upholstery. It looks light and lets air pass, and you can see the jointed frame underneath, which gives a familiar lounge chair shape a fresh read.
Look closer and the details repeat the weave. The reinforced aluminum legs carry a knurled texture that echoes the woven pattern, and a zig-zag stitch on the headrest does the same. Dedon's master weavers on Cebu Island make each piece by hand, and the original pattern blends three shades of red fiber.
The collection includes a lounge chair, a wing chair with a taller back, a footstool, a 2-seater and a coffee table. Current fiber colors are Graphite, Elemental and White Quartz. Cushions come in Dedon fabric families such as Natura, Caleo, Tucson, Gaia, Muse, Nube and Borneo, so you can go quiet or bold.
Dedon Fiber is made in the company's plant in northern Germany and resists chlorine, salt water and sun. That makes Ahnda a good fit for a pool deck, a covered porch or a terrace by the ocean. Clean it with warm water, a soft brush and a mild cleanser.
