About the collection
A shell you can sit in
Seashell Grand is the larger sister of Seashell Nuo, and both return to the Seashell chair Massaud first drew for Dedon. The idea stays the same. A shell holds what is inside it, and the chair does the same for you, with a tall back and sides that give a sense of shelter on an open terrace.
Dedon master weavers make each chair by hand on Cebu Island in the Philippines. The fiber is Dedon EcoCycle Fiber, made 90 percent from renewable plant-based resources instead of fossil fuels. Dedon says it looks and feels like its standard fiber and holds up to weather the same way.
The collection has two pieces, a wing chair and a footstool, in two fiber colors, Midnight and Oasis. Seat cushions come in the Dedon fabric families, among them Natura, Caleo, Tucson, Gaia, Muse, Nube and Borneo, so you can set the chair against your other outdoor fabrics.

Jean-Marie Massaud, a French designer, is known for joining comfort and elegance, heritage and the present. For Dedon he has also drawn Sealine and Seax, and his work extends to store design and a football stadium.
