About the collection
From one island to an archipelago
In a typical modular sofa, a single module looks unfinished. Dedon built Mdear so one piece can stand on its own as a lounge chair. Start with a single seat on a small balcony, then add modules later when you move to a house with a garden.
Dedon lists left and right modules, left and right corner modules, a footstool and a coffee table. Join the corners and side modules to wrap a seating area, or pull them apart into separate islands around the table. Dedon describes the range as moving from a small island to a large archipelago.
The collection is shown in Pepper Bold Touch, a dark Dedon Fiber colorway. Dedon Fiber is made in the company's own plant in northern Germany and worked by Dedon's craftspeople on Cebu Island. It resists chlorine, salt water and UV, so modules can sit by a pool or on a coastal terrace. Cushions come in fabric families such as Natura, Tucson, Gaia and Nube.
